Australian Professional Cricket

The Big Bash League is one of the most successful leagues in cricket. With an average attendance of more than 20,000, it is also one of the most attended sports leagues in the world. Running from December to January, it utilizes the Twenty20 format and is contested across 8 different teams.

In addition to the Big Bash League, there are state-based Australian clubs that compete in the Sheffield Shield & One-Day Cup. These use the First-Class and Limited-Overs ruleset, respectively. Running from approxiamately September to March, these competitions are contested across 6 different teams.
